We've updated your Netgem TV software with some exciting improvements to make watching TV even better! This latest update in March 2025, includes changes to the Netgem TV box and mobile app. Here's what’s new:
Netgem TV Box Updates:
Here's what's new on your Netgem TV box:
- New 'Factual' Section: We've combined the 'News' and 'Documentaries' sections into a single section called 'Factual'. This makes it easier to find shows about real-life events, history, and science. We've also updated the shows in this section, so there's lots of new things to discover!
- Updated 'Sport' Section: The 'Sport' section has been refreshed with highlights from the latest sporting events, like football and rugby. We've also added content from new apps, so you have even more sports to choose from.
- Better Movie Pictures: We've made the portrait movie pictures in the 'Cinema' section bigger and better, so they look more attractive and grab your attention.
- Improved BBC Channels: We've fixed a small problem with BBC channels. Now, if the aerial is disconnected or reception via the aerial is extremely poor, the BBC channels will swap over to iPlayer, so you can continue watching.
- See Full Channel Descriptions: You'll now be able to see the full description of TV channels in the TV guide, so you have all the information you need.
Mobile App Updates:
We've made some handy changes to the Netgem TV mobile app for both Android and Apple (iOS) devices.
- Control Volume and Brightness with a Touch: Now you can easily change the volume and brightness while watching a video without pausing or going into any menus.
- Volume: When watching a video, swipe up on the right side of your phone's screen to increase the volume, and swipe down on the right side to decrease it.
-
- Brightness: Swipe up on the left side of the screen to make the screen brighter, and swipe down on the left side to make it darker.
- Find Your Spot with Scrubbing Navigation (iOS only): If you're using the Netgem TV app on an iPhone or iPad, you can now easily skip to any point in a show or movie. Just pause the video and drag the marker on the timeline to where you want to watch.
App Improvements (Android only): We've updated the video player and made some other technical improvements to the Android version of the app. This means the app should work better, be more stable, and work smoothly with the latest Android phones and tablets.
